Diversity

Westminster became a multi-cultural church in 1999 when a Korean congregation nested at Westminster. The diversity of race went beyond Korean and American. We are welcoming of many nationalities as well as couples of mixed marriages and families new to the United States. We are also blessed with diversity of ability and inability due to our relationship with two LifeScape Homes for disabled adults. Residents of the Stephen House and Old Orchard Place have become members, received baptism and become active in the life of the church.

Over the past 15 years we have hosted a variety of ethnic church groups including a Korean congregation, an Ethiopian Orthodox church, a Serbian Orthodox church as well as a Ukrainian church called Light to the World. Light to the World Church worships four times a week and has a membership of about 250 people.

In addition, Westminster is a missional church where we serve members by helping to support their basic needs of food, shelter and transportation. Westminster is known as a church where all are welcome. The diversity we experience is part of our family of faith that makes for a unique and inviting worship experience.
